Executive – Accounts and Operations

We are looking for a young operations professional with business operations and accounting knowledge plus experience, to join our team in Colombo.
Beta Launch is a product management, engineering, and design outfit based out of Melbourne and Colombo serving clients ranging from start-ups to mid-market firms globally, helping them build digital products that match the underserved needs of their respective markets.
Drawing on 50+ years of collective experience, we work closely with clients in Australia, Sri Lanka, the Netherlands, and beyond on diverse projects and products across industries ranging from cultural development to accounting and payroll services.
The Role
You will primarily be responsible for day-to-day operations activities including accounting and managing both internal and client projects together with relevant team members and leaders to ensure smoothness across the overall Beta Launch business operation.
The role will require you to oversee the accounts and budgeting function as well as project-related operations requirements such as planning and integration of diverse tasks and responsibilities in seeing them through. You will work alongside team leaders from the various business functions to ensure smooth operations across each.
Success in this role is dependent on being highly self-motivated and self-managed, always open to feedback and critique, and extremely collaborative in a multidisciplinary environment.
You Will Be Expected To
- Supporting the GM and the leadership team and liaising with the accounting consultant
- Collaborating with client relationship leads on accounts receivable as well as maintaining up-to-date cashflow projections
- Collaborating with operational teams and overseeing both internal and client projects
- Managing projects requiring planning and integration of multiple tasks plus inputs from multiple team members
- Performing reconciliation of accounts
- Managing payroll, EPF, ETF and APIT remittance
- Processing payments and invoices accurately and within expected time periods
- Verifying financial statements, ledgers, and accounts and making corrections where appropriate
- Preparing profit and loss accounts sheets
- Preparing TAX returns
- Preparing the yearly budget
- Maintaining the asset register
- Taking minutes in meetings and other administrative duties
Our Ideal Candidate Should Have
- Minimum 1-year experience in a related role
- Full or part qualification in CIMA/AAT (or relevant qualification)
- Strong command of English in both its written and spoken forms
- Knowledge of payroll and legal documents will be an added advantage
- Working knowledge of MS Teams, Trello, Xero, and other SaaS platforms
*Our ideal candidate should be below 30 years of age, and those residing close to Colombo 05 will reserve an advantage.
