Assistant Accountant

Beta Launch, a product management, engineering, and design company based in Melbourne and Colombo, is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their team.
As an Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for day-to-day operations, including accounting and project management.
This role involves overseeing accounts, budgeting, project planning, and integration of tasks across various business functions.
To succeed in this role, you should be self-motivated, open to feedback, and collaborative in a multidisciplinary environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the GM and leadership team, and work with accounting consultants
- Collaborate with client relationship leads on accounts receivable and cash flow projections
- Oversee internal and client projects
- Manage project planning and integration of tasks from multiple team members
- Perform account reconciliation
- Handle payroll, EPF, ETF, and APIT remittance
- Process payments and invoices accurately and on time
- Verify financial statements, ledgers, and accounts, and make corrections if needed
- Prepare profit and loss accounts, tax returns and yearly budget
- Maintain the asset register
- Assist in meeting minutes and other administrative duties
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a related role
- Full or part qualification in CIMA/AAT or relevant field
- Strong command of written and spoken English
- Knowledge of payroll and legal documents is a plus
- Working knowledge of MS Teams, Trello, Xero, and other SaaS platforms
